Aishwarya Rai refuses to do J.P. Dutta’s film::>

J.P. Dutta wanted to cast Ash in his period film based on the life of Queen Gayatri Devi, long before Umrao Jaan was offered to her. It was in this film J.P. Dutta had given her an opportunity to work with her husband Abhishek Bachchan. Initially Ash want.J.P. J.P. Dutta is known to have a good relationship with the Bachchan family. It was J.P. Dutta who had given Abhishek Bachchan his first break in the film Refugee.
After Ash’s refusal, J.P. Dutta was upset and decided not to make the film, as no actor except Ash could suit the role of Maharani Gayatri Devi.
Apart from Umroa Jaan, Ash is been offered many roles for period movies. Ashutosh Gowatrikar’s Jodha Akbar, Ketan Mehta’s Jhaasi Ki Raani, Dr.Chandra Prakash’ Prithvi Raj Chauhan and Sunny Deol’s Shakuntala. But post marriage, these days Ash is busy working on her Hollywood project Pink Panther.
