Born to Indian parents, Geeta Basra was raised in UK. She came down to India, to pursue her childhood dream of becoming a Bollywood star. An ardent admirer of Madhur Dixit, Geeta has always aspired to become like her.

She used to mostly dance on Madhuri Dixit’s songs and her first stage show was at an early age of two.

When Geeta heard that Ram Gopal Verma was making Main Madhuri Dixit Banna Chahti Hoon, she desperately wanted to take up that role, except for a small hitch that she was stillbased in London.

However, before long, she decided to make her dream a reality. She came to Mumbai and joined the renowned Kishore Namit Kapoor's acting school, where quite a few established stars were trained. Once she finished her training she went back to London and hired a manager for herself.

Her debut film, Dil Diya Hai, made by Aditya Dutt had Emraan Hashmi as the lead actor. In this movie she co-starred with Emraan Hashmi. The film didn’t do well and she went on to do The Train. The film did moderately well.

Nothing seems to dampen her spirits though. She believes that she’ll prove her mettle and will be the next Madhuri Dixit of Bollywood.
